A Review by

So I finished watching Basilisk for the first time.

Thoughts:
Okay, so the story is about two ninja clans, the Kouga and the Iga, that have hated each other for 400 years and they battle it out to determine the next Shogun. In between this feud is Gennosuke and Oboro, who love each other and are the heirs of their respective clans. They both want peace between their clans, but to no avail. The terms have been set as two lists with members of each clan are inscribed on them, and the names can only be crossed out in blood.

Basilisk is basically a love story of Romeo and Juliet…but with ninjas that have supernatural powers…and I can honestly say IT WORKS. Most people that have told me about Basilisk have all said the same thing: CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED. I have to share this sentiment. This isn’t an anime that doesn’t seem to stand out, but when you take the time to notice it, you’ll be happy you did.

Basilisk was a great anime to watch. I’m giving it a 9/10. I recommend you give it a watch.

Streaming on Funimation and available on DVD/Blu-Ray.
