Just finished Evangellion 3.33 You Can(Not) Redo and let just say that you will wan to watch Evangellion 2.22 You Can(Not) Advance. Even then that might not help you come to terms on what is going on in the first half of 3.33. That said please pay very and I mean VERY close attention to the second half as it explains everything that has happened in Evangellion 1.11 You Are(Not) Alone and 2.22 and the reasons behind that.
