I think his finest role to date is as Nanashi in Sword of the Stranger. I had heard nothing but good things about this film so I gave it a watch months ago and was just blown away by the whole thing. Nanashi’s character and performance in particular. He’s a perfect take on the aloof drifter ronin archetype. Michael’s voice was just perfect for Nanashi, a very cool aloof but still passionate and very brotherly. He reminded me so much of Ted Cole in the role. It’s easily one of my favourite dub performances I’ve heard.
